Nearby Kilcrohane, renowned for its friendliness, has two pubs - Eileen's (Fitzpatrick's) bar and the Bay View Inn, where you will receive a warm welcome; both have live music at least once a week, more in summer, and also the Grain Store wine bar open weekends in summer.
Kilcrohane's Easter Music Festival, runs for three days with a mixture of music and sessions - it's an enjoyable, free event hosted by local pubs.
Bantry House has regular chamber music concerts and hosts the West Cork Chamber Music Festival in June and the Masters of Tradition week in August, both with internationally acclaimed Irish and invited musicians.
The West Cork Literary Festival, with lectures, readings, seminars and workshops, takes place in July in Bantry.
